The Society has an obligation to the future generations of this state to preserve and promote WA
history to all age groups – it led the way in 1926 and continues today. Education through resources
held in our collection and by affiliated societies across the state will be a guiding principle for the
future. We are unique in Perth holding library, archives, artworks and museum artefacts forming one

A new home
A place that will care for and conserve the Society’s growing historical collections to
national standards, be an exciting focal point for those wishing to discover more about our state’s
history through people’s lives and host the society’s events and education programs. A new dynamic
will be a community history centre offering a shared space for other smaller community groups
dedicated to the nurturing of life stories of West Australians in diverse ways.
